Rusalka

Virga Jesse
2021A sculpture about hope, bloom and new life, inspired by the duet “Virga Jesse floruit, a duet for soprano and baritone from the Magnificat by J.S. Bach, usually sung at Christmas time. The first sentence means: the tree of Jesse is blooming. The window is inspired by the gothic flamboyant style of the 15th century. The hands stand for the people on earth, the blooming leaves reach out to heaven.
Apollo's Daphne I
2014Daphne is portrayed halfway through her metamorphosis into a laurel tree. Inspiration: Greek mythological story of Daphne and Apollo in the book 'The Metamorphoses' by Ovid.
La Mer
